The ESE aims to support education in the broad field of Endodontology and to accredit and re-validate taught postgraduate specialty training programmes. The Society publishes undergraduate curriculum guidelines for Endodontology and minumum criteria for training specialists in Endodontology within Europe. It also holds workshops and symposia on education at congresses and meetings. The ESE has strong links with the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE).

ESE Grants

ESE Education Prizes & Awards
The ESE Education Prize competition is hosted during its biennial congress with an amount of €2,500 in recognition of an outstanding piece of educational research or innovation related to Endodontology. Full details available on the link below:
The ESE also provides an opportunity for educators to take part in the John Whitworth Educational Poster Award competition, present posters and talk on freely chosen subjects at our biennal congresses.

Education Guidelines
ESE Education Symposia
ESE hosts a major education symposium during its biennial congress, drawing together colleagues from around the world to share experiences, challenges, opportunities and best practice. Recent themes have included:
- The production of high-quality videos for on-line teaching and technology-enhanced learning.
- Navigating the transition from dental School to independent practice
- An endodontic case= difficulty assessment tool
- Digital workflow in skills training
and always with opportunities for discussion and networking.
ADEE Collaboration
ESE collaborates closely with the Association for Dental Education in Europe, hosting a Special Interest group for Endodontic Educators during the ADEE annual meeting and advising ADEE on competency frameworks for graduating European dentists.
ESE defines the minimum standard of postgraduate training for aspiring Endodontic specialists in the European region. Eligible 3-year postgraduate programmes may request inspection for feedback, quality assurance and registration as an ESE-accredited programme. Graduates of accredited programmes are automatically eligible to apply for ESE Specialist Membership.
