Who we are

  • The Swedish Endodontic Society is the national forum for Endodontology in Sweden, founded in 1977.
  • Our members are specialists, postgraduate students, dedicated general dentists, educators and researchers in the field. We warmly welcome membership enquiries from all those interested in Endodontology. For full membership (right to vote in the general assembly) a Swedish specialist degree in Endodontics is required.
  • We are proud members of the ESE, and honoured to be represented on its boards and committees.

What we want

  • Our mission is to promote research, postgraduate education and clinical development in Endodontics – all for the ultimate benefit of our patients.
  • As a network of expertise, we represent the specialty of Endodontics in contacts with other national and international specialist organisations, and act as consultants for national regulation authorities for dentistry and associated organisations and stakeholders.
  • We aim to safeguard the interests of the profession in matters of social, economic and work environmental nature by active participation in societal discourse.

What we do

  • By hosting the Supervisors’ Forum for Endodontics, the Society supports the development of the national curriculum for the 3-year postgraduate education in Endodontics, and contributes to quality control of individual programs.
  • We arrange regular webinars with clinical experts or researchers on a variety of topics, and provide a forum for members to discuss issues of interest or concern in online meetings.
  • In the annual Congress of the Swedish Dental Association, we organize sessions on endodontic topics and research reports. Our members frequently contribute to courses, seminars and lectures nationally and internationally.
  • We support Swedish research in Endodontology and promote young researchers by the annual award The Swedish Endodontic Society’s Prize for Best Research Report in Endodontology, given to a student presenter on basic, advanced or research level.
  • National and regional meetings include the annual Endodontic Spring Meeting (held in Swedish language) and the biennial SkandEndo Meeting (in English language) in the autumn.
