Original scientific research prize

The ESE Research Committee is responsible for evaluating and selecting abstracts for the Original Scientific Research poster presentations. Only those accepted will be invited to present an Original Scientific Research poster at the Congress.

PLEASE NOTE: THE ORIGINAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ABSTRACTS WILL BE EVALUATED ONLY ONCE.

Following their initial submission, there will be no opportunity to modify these abstracts and resubmit them for further consideration. If the abstract does not comply with the guidance, is poorly written or information is missing it will be rejected and moved to the General Endodontic Poster Section if the presenting author agrees.

Abstract Format: Abstracts must NOT contain figures, tables, photos or illustrations. Abstracts must be approximately 300 words long and include the following sections:

  • Aim – e.g. To evaluate, to analyse …..
  • Methodology – a concise description of the experimental design, and materials and methods
  • Results - results and statistical analysis
  • Conclusions – in brief and related to the results without speculation
  • Acknowledgements and/ or Funding source – if applicable

Poster Presentation: All original scientific research posters will be moderated (three (3) minutes are allocated for the presentation with 5 minutes for questions) and only those presented by the nominated author (as indicated in the abstract) will be published in the International Endodontic Journal. The nominated author must be in attendance for the session they are allocated to. Posters MUST be portrait style. Size max 84 cm wide by 118 cm high (print size A0).

Original Scientific Research Prize:A limited number of high quality submissions will be selected by the ESE Research Committee, based on criteria developed by the Committee, to be presented orally as well as by poster. Following the reviewing process, the authors will be asked if they want to present their work as an oral presentation. The oral presentations will be limited to 10 minutes plus 5 minutes discussion. The best presentation will be awarded a prize of €250.
